Friday again , and back to the pink colour combination. Today I've used the Carols of Christmas stamp set again - the large sentiments make a big impact ....
I do quite like making Christmas cards in non traditional colours and my classes will now all include at least one Christmas card each week - whatever the colour combination ! Quite a challenge sometimes but I'm always up for a challenge !
I'm back to the blues just for today but I wasn't able to show you this card last week as it was for my good friend Amanda of The Craft Spa fame. Her birthday was yesterday and I know it has been received so I hope you had a lovely day Amanda !
Amanda loves her blues so it was easy to choose colours for her - although I am converting her to an occasional bit of pink lol ! I used the Oh so Eclectic stamps and dies but also the new leaf punch - I've used this loads already.....
I actually made Amanda's card while I was making my class designs , well in advance for me - I'm usually last minute. com. The class version continued with the combination of Sahara Sand and a touch of copper but I knew Amanda would prefer more white.......
Thinking of everyone in the path of Hurricane Irma at the moment and hoping you manage to keep safe. I can't believe it's only a few weeks ago I was in Florida and the 'normal ' storms there are dramatic enough.
Today's colour combination is back to 'pretty' Powder Pink, Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant and a touch of Champagne foil.
I have used the Celebration Time stamps and dies and this is a fab bundle and works just as well in masculine colours too !
A quick and easy card to put together thanks to the dies !
EDITED - this was scheduled to post on Wednesday but for some reason didn't. I noticed and re did on Thursday but it looks like you still didn't get to see - the mysteries of Blogger lol ! Let's hope third time lucky !!
Oops, yesterday's scheduled post didn't work for some reason - probably operator error so sorry about that !
As promised another card in the same colour combination, this time using best birds
Sorry, no time for chat today - new stamps in the house lol ! But really I should be preparing for a class, so a very quick inky play is needed !
Morning all, hopefully this has posted at the planned time today !
Today, I have a Christmas card to share with you. Have you started your shopping yet ? I have, I do like to be early. It started when I was first pregnant, knowing my baby was due middle of January I decided to get my Christmas shopping done early and she arrived early the day after Boxing Day. My second daughter was due at the end of November but was late and arrived mid December, so with 2 birthdays and Christmas in a fortnight, I have lots of presents to buy and need to be organised !
I don't like them to miss out because they have Christmas birthdays so I try to get things as I see them but usually put them somewhere safe and forget where I've hidden things !
Today's card uses some of my favourite products from the new catalogue ....
Love those new Edgelits, expect to see them feature plenty of times across the next few months.
This month the theme is Autumn Colours and I must confess the yellows and oranges together wouldn't be one of my go to colour combinations but I've given it a go !
My first card uses the old favourite Lovely as a Tree...such a classic and I love it with a bit of sponging- and the addition of the cute deer from Carols of Christmas. And thinking of Christmas I'm going to recreate this one in Night of Navy and Soft Sky.
Atmospheric isn't it ? Can't wait to do the Christmas version.
My next card also uses a stamp from one of the new sets in the Autumn/Winter catalogue but it's not obvious.....
Did you spot it ?
And another card with an old favourite Foxy Friends...
And one more simple card to finish with......
And I got a bit carried away and decorated the inside too...
And the back...
In the end I quite enjoyed the colours which were Daffodil Delight, Early |Espresso, Calypso Coral and my least used colour of all time Cajun Craze
Hope you've enjoyed my take on Autumn Colours. Now pop over to the super talented Amanda at The Craft Spa
Just a quick one today as I have some lovely class ladies waiting. Another card using the foil snowflakes , available from the new catalogue on Friday. These are proving very popular and I have a list of people wanting to order some on the 1st. They are only £5.50 for 24 snowflakes and are a real wow embellishment .....
I had a lovely time and can't remember a time when it was so hot on an actual Bank Holiday. Hubby and I had a nice picnic for lunch and visited a local marina and garden centre.
Had to laugh when he hopefully enquired why I'd bought a sprig of miseltoe from the Christmas clearance section and I explained it would make a good photo prop for my Christmas cards lol !! Well, it was only 30p - a real bargain !
It's definitely not sunbathing weather today so I will be back in my craft room. Pop back tomorrow and I will show you a Christmas card - with the new mistletoe !
Morning all, and what a dark, gloomy one it is ! Perfect crafting weather !
Today it has been a year since I left my old job - how time flies when you're having fun lol ! Apart from spending more time on Stampin' Up my only other plan on the day I left was to indulge myself with a reading hour every day. Has that happened ? Twice , I think ! And maybe I don't have time for a full hour every day but I'm certainly going to make it a new resolution and try and fit half an hour in. What do you like to do to relax? Apart from stamping, of course.....
Today's card uses the new foil snowflakes and I already love them. Maximum impact with minimum effort and very popular at my class on Monday. They are only £5.50 for 24 ( 12 silver, 12 gold) and are available from 1st September, which sounds ages away but is only Friday, next week ! I already have a list of people wanting some so just let me know if you would like to be added to it
Look at that sparkle....
So pretty aren't they ? They will definitely feature heavily on my Christmas makes this year
Morning, sorry afternoon all ! I'm a little bit later today as I've been out at my Card and a Cuppa event this morning - and we did our first Christmas card ! I might post that on my Facebook page later so click on the link on the right if you'd like a look at that.
Today's card uses the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set and was stamped on the gorgeous shimmery card so it could then be spritzed and allow the ink to run. A few of my class ladies were unsure about this technique but they gave it a go and were pleasantly surprised at the results.
This obviously produces a slightly different result each time and can depend on how much water you spritz on but great fun for a little play
I'd better go and unpack my class bags and put everything away now- the only bit I don't enjoy !
And back with another card in the same colour combination as yesterday ....Berry Burst, Sahara Sand, Pool Party and Old Olive. This is the first inking for a beautiful stamp set called Floral Statements, which also has a floral hello as well as this thank you.
I've also used the Sheet Music background stamp and top tip - if you stamp it in a pale colour there is no need to create a fiddly mask , just stamp the flowers over the top and colour.
Really like the crinkled seam binding ribbon too and that reminds me I want to get some in Night of Navy on my next order.
Oops late posting today, but better late than never !
After a marathon ironing session yesterday I decided I deserved a little crafting time at my desk. I was supposed to be designing my projects for this weeks classes and was going to use my new Colourful Seasons set........
I was thinking of making something using the branch and flower images but then I suddenly got the idea that maybe I could make a snowman from these stamps. I know, strange, but sometimes I go off on a tangent lol !
Anyway after looking at the stamps carefully this is what I came up with .......
Cute isn't he ? Wanna build a snowman lol ? Hope the picture below helps explain which bit is which....
Can't wait to see what else I can make with these stamps - but I suppose I'd better finish what I was supposed to be doing !
As promised I'm back to show you a few pictures from a boat trip we went on while away. As well as seeing some beautiful (read expensive!) luxury homes overlooking the bay we were fortunate enough to see some dolphins.....
It was so amazing to see them in the wild and they came right close to the boat...
Almost within touching distance....
Although taking pictures was quite tricky as all of a sudden they would leap out of the water and dive back in again. A fantastic experience and lots of magical memories !
I've been 'back to work' today with an all day class so I will be back with some creative makes on Monday but tomorrow some of my team mates are taking part in the Jems Monthly Blog Hop and the theme is ' Anything but a Card' . I wasn't able to take part this month due to my holiday but check out what the girls have been up to, you can start at The Craft Spa www.thecraftspa.blogspot.co.uk
And it's August tomorrow, which means I need to remind you that today is the last day you can take advantage of this month's fantastic starter kit offer. Go quick, pop over to www.juliewade.stampinup.net and bag yourself a bargain - I can guarantee you won't regret it !!
Today's card is from a set that I must confess that I skimmed past when I first flicked through the new catalogue ...Celebration Time . After closer consideration I decided it would be very versatile both for pretty birthday and wedding cards but also for masculine projects too - and the matching framelits have tags too, perfect for Christmas !
And isn't that little bow so cute ? I think this is a set I will be getting a lot of use out of - well worth going back through the catalogue and taking a closer look at the things that don't instantly jump out at you !
Yesterday I got to see the new Autumn/Winter catalogue online and start thinking about Christmas crafting , can't wait !
Just a reminder that if you want to see the new catalogue early it's one of the perks of being a demo and so another reason ( not that you need one !) to take advantage of the amazing starter kit offer available at the moment - but only until 31st July !!!
And don't forget you get a free Christmas stamp set too !
Plus £130 worth of products of your choice - And all for £99 !!! You can order directly from my online store www.juliewade.stampinup.net , just click on Join the Fun and follow the directions or if you have any questions please email me email@example.com
Another new week but I'm back again with another card using last weeks colour combination .....
A bit of flower colouring this time - and check out the very subtle background music notes. I love SU background stamps and this one is equally nice with a vintage feel like this or making a bold, dramatic impact too !
Do you like those tiny square embellishments in the top right hand corner ? Left overs from last weeks door card lol ! Waste not, want not ...
Back with something a bit different today, ghost stamping. For this I used the new SU glossy card stock, can't wait to play with this more !
I stamped the little fishy background with Versamark ink and then sent aside to dry. Once dry I then sponged them with three horizontal stripes starting with Tranquil Tide at the bottom, then Emerald Envy, then Tempting Turquoise. As you press the ink in it is resisted by the Versamark and little white fishes appear!
Fun technique and a lot less messy than getting out the heat gun and embossing powder !
Morning all, Monday again. How quickly the weeks roll by - a sign of getting old lol !
Today it's not a card I've got to show you but some gift packaging. I recently sent my grown up niece a MAC cosmetics gift card. It was a black gift card and it came with a completely plain black envelope so I decided it needed 'stampyupifying' a bit to make it a bit prettier. I used one of the new gold striped gift bags and it was literally done in a minute, complete with a gold clip and some of the new mini sequin trim to coordinate with the black inside.
Been a busy week, but the highlight has got to be another special card I received in the post from a very special lady !
It came all the way from the Stampin' Up! Home office in Utah with a personal message from the lovely Sara Douglass, CEO !!!
Sarah from our team had taken the trouble to contact Sara and let her know about our recent effort to send cards to the emergency services following the awful tragedies and I'm so touched that Sara contacted me. I'm such a lucky girl but really it is to recognise the whole team effort
If you can, please surprise someone with an unexpected handmade card in the post - it means so much !
